CRIME ON THE ISLAND

This section has been included as some that have never visited the Turks and Caicos are concerned about this aspect especially having heard stories of some of the problems at other Caribbean,Mexican and Central American resorts.
In assessing the risk one must be aware that the population of the Turks and Caicos is small with many skilled trade and professional expatriates living here. Also consider the fact that it is well publicized by various international and state agencies that the Turks and Caicos Islands have the lowest crime rates of the Caribbean. By USA and Canadian standards the crime rate is negligible. It should be noted that while low, the crime rate is not zero and there are a few crime hot spots to avoid. We can advise on these locations if you contact us.

All of the Tourist areas are quite safe and the south side where Villa Roi Soleil is located is particularly quiet with no significant crime of any description ever occurring that we know of.

Villa Roi Soleil is equipped with state of the art security systems as well as critical systems backup to further deter any criminal from thinking the property can be easily burglarized. It is also gated with digital locks at all entrance points for piece of mind of the guests. We also have direct access to armed security professionals that are often used to escort diplomats or other at risk individuals should you feel that you would need such a service.

We have had some guests become concerned about reports of serious crimes against tourists after being told stories by various people on the island - usually heard in restaurants and bars or on the public beaches. This is unfortunate and often caused by unverified rumors of crimes which periodically circulate among the island population and tend to perpetuate and become larger and more embellished as time goes on. If you hear any of these stories the only reliable method of checking the accuracy is via the TCI police website www.tcipolice.tc or you can ask us directly.
We check the crime reports regularly and if there is a cause for concern about any part of the island we let our guests know. If you do happen to hear of a crime that causes you concern before, during or after your travels on the island, let us know right away and we will do our best to find out the real story and if it should be a cause for concern. We will let you know what we find. We take the security of our guests seriously and the last thing we want is to have one of our guests become the victim of a crime on the island.
